Welcome to the new store!

Over the Christmas period we encountered some grave problems with the old online store which were irrepairable, so our apologies to all our customers who tried in vain to place orders online and many, many thanks to those of you who called us with orders. We have been planning to replace the old store in Spring 2010, as you can see we had to bring our plans forward unexpectedly, but it was worth the effort - I hope you will agree.

Pico Cage SandPico Cage Sand - NEW PRODUCT!

"makes the birdroom smell georgeous"

Pico Kiln Dried Cage Sand; this sand is used for the floor covering in the cage, a product widely used in Europe. Its advantages over the more commonly used coverings such as wood chips/shavings’ or just paper, are that the sand, (which is a by product of the process of oyster shell grit), is that not only is it incredibly absorbent but it has added to it oyster shell grit, silicium grit and aniseed oil. Not only does it have the desired effect in keeping the cage clean and dry, you don’t have to supply a separate dish for the grit as it’s in the sand with the aniseed it also helps deodorise the room, less mess in the bird room as there is no wood chips/shavings’ being thrown out of the cage and something many of us don’t think of this gives the birds the ability to have a dust bath, one of the first things my canaries and parrot finches first did when I tested the product.

  • incredibly absorbent, keeps cages drier longer.
  • contains beneficial minerals and oyster shell grit.
  • contains aniseed oil to deodorise the birdroom.
  • stays on the floor, meaning less mess on your bridroom floor.
  • Tried and preferred by continental breeders...
